Tuesday March 27. Early to bed and early out of bed again. After our breakfast we hit the road. After driving for 2 hours we have a break with coffee and cake in Marybourough. We notice that on the Bruce Hwy are many road works with just as many delays. Other travellers have complaints too about these delays. Near Lake Monduran we have a lunch break in the van. We decide not to go to the place called 1770 where we were several years ago. Near Gladstone we see an exit to Tannum Sands. In this little village we see a beautiful well maintained park near the beach with all the relevant items in it. The beach seems to be loved by the para sailers. They make huge jumps rocketed by the hard winds en big waves. After enjoying our short stay we resume our journey. Near the river called Boyne we will stay overnight. It’s a quit big and well organised rest area with all the necessities available. For dinner we have spaghetti Bolognese with salad. Theo is talking with some other guys with a van. One of them happens to be a Dutch girl who tells him that they are on their way South but had to wait for 3 days near Townville (heavy rains) before the roads were opened again. After a co, co, cold shower and some reading we go asleep. Marian don’t snore!
